Why this 21yo model won’t have sex

Image
A 21-YEAR-OLD model and YouTube vlogger has revealed she's waiting until she's married before she has sex. Courtney Raine, who has nearly 10,000 followers on the social media channel, wants to inspire other women to stay "pure" before their wedding night. If your partner is tempted by seeing you in a swimsuit, then avoid that and don't spent the night in the same bed as them. Courtney says that these tips help you from "avoiding the situation" but her most bold claim is telling others to just "avoid talking about it [sex] altogether". The museum's owner, William Doyle, who is also chief executive of jewellery and homeware maker Newbridge Silverware, said the idea of a Kurt Cobain exhibition stemmed from his friendship with the singer's family. Wilson vows to appeal overturned payout

Image
Hollywood star Rebel Wilson plans to challenge a court ruling that slashed her $4.5 million defamation payout to $600,000 after magazine publisher Bauer Media successfully appealed. "Ms Wilson was unable to establish that there was a causal connection between the defamatory publications, for which Bauer Media was responsible, and any loss. "This court has therefore rejected Ms Wilson's claim that she suffered economic loss." The Court of Appeal also reduced Wilson's non-economic damages from $650,000 to $600,000. Better mobile phone coverage on the way

If you feel as though you spend half your life tilting your head every which way, or hanging off the back veranda just to get one bar of coverage on your mobile phone – you could be in luck. The Federal Government has allocated $25 million to the fourth round of the Mobile Black Spot Program. The competitive selection process for round four of the program is expected to commence later this year, and Mr van Manen suggests any Gold Coasters who believe they live or work in a black spot to have their voice heard. “I encourage local residents, businesses and community organisations to engage with their state and local governments through the consultation process to enhance coverage outcomes.” Read this News:  http://www.mygc.com.au/better-mobile-phone-coverage-on-the-way/

Qld Budget 2018 | Gold Coast to get $1.5b in health funding

Image
Services to assist with the busy flu season and the rising demand for mental health will get a shot in the arm when the Queensland Government outlines its annual budget tomorrow. Almost $1.5 billion will be invested in health care on the Gold Coast in 2018-19, as part of a record $18.3 billion allocation for the state’s health services and infrastructure. Also on the Mayor’s agenda is ongoing funding to attract international film and television productions to the south east. And, a financial commitment for a dive site off the coast. “I believe we can get it for the same price as HMAS Tobruk, which is around $10 million. “If the State Government can put in $8 million, we can top it up.” Treasurer Jackie Trad will outline her first State Budget on Tuesday. GC hopes sunk on possible dive site

Image
The Gold Coast looks to be the loser, after squabbles between the State and Federal Government stalls movements on a proposed dive site. The plan to sink the HMAS Darwin and create a dive site, which would bring millions of dollars to the Coast, seems unlikely to go ahead. Gold Coast Federal MP Stuart Robert has accused the Palaszczuk Government of lying and leading Canberra on. Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate agrees with this and said the Council could still make the project work. “If the State Government puts $8 million on the table right now, our council can make the dive site deal a reality,” he said. The Mayor wouldn’t outline how he would be able to make this project work, but if given the funding he would be able to outline the project within a fortnight. Mum’s ingenious $10 Kmart hack

Image
A GOLD Coast mum has revealed a "hack" to transform a $35 Kmart side table into something "classy and elegant" using simple stick-on fretwork. Kylie Hughes from Stylkea, which launched last year selling peel-and-stick panels that turn simple Ikea furniture into something resembling a $5000 Jonathan Adler piece, has now branched into the world of "Kmart mums". Ms Hughes said the online business was now bringing in $4000 a month, and she planned to quit her day job to focus on it full-time from July 1. "I think I've proved the concept," she said. "If I really give my full attention to it, I can bring out more ranges. My next step is to do more collaborations with interior designers. There are a lot of creative avenues. read continue :  https://www.tweeddailynews.com.au/news/gold-coast-mums-simple-hack-transforms-35-kmart-dr/3433422/

Gold Coast superstar Tom Lynch and the million dollar question

Image
IT IS the million dollar question, literally. Where will Gold Coast co-captain Tom Lynch play his football next year and beyond? Will his time in southeast Queensland continue? Or will the bright lights of the big city and the ability to cruise down Peninsula Link and back home to Sorrento pull him back to Victoria? After a bright start under Stuart Dew’s watch, Gold Coast has lost its past five games, and if that form continues, and another year is written off, the school of thought is Lynch will play for a Melbourne club going forward. The question is: will it be Collingwood? Richmond? Or is Hawthorn the sleeping giant? Casuarina's good life is turning buyer's heads

Image
This is according to the principal of LS Properties, Lorna Savage. "Up until three years ago, there were still a lot of skeptics over whether Casuarina was going to be the place," Ms Savage said. "Byron Bay was their point of reference, they wanted to live in either Byron or Currumbin. "The boardwalk and beach trail leads all the way to Cabarita and Kingscliff. It's great for all ages. Gold Coast sets Australia's first-ever koala levy to buy bushland

Image
Gold Coast City Council has become the first council in Australia to set a “koala levy” for households to buy koala habitats. Gold Coast households will pay $3 a week — less than a cup of coffee — for a new koala levy, in one of the boldest moves to protect koalas announced in Queensland in a decade. The $3 per week koala levy will help raise $10.85 million in the first 12 months. “We are looking at ways to improve habitat coverage and condition, decrease koala injuries and fatalities caused by domestic and pest animals, and manage threats from traffic and bushfire,” Cr Tate said. “These are priority actions within the City’s Koala Conservation Plan,” he said. The Gold Coast City Council brings down its 2018-19 budget on June 21. Having a good friendship is simply the best

Image
This Friday, June 8, is Best Friends Day. We ask some BFFs who has their back through thick and thin. JAMES ROBERTS AND GABBY EPSTEIN Australian sprint swimmer James Roberts and social media star Gabby Epstein are best friends. They also happen to be partners but their friendship came first and has been the foundation of their 18-month relationship. There was one homeless man obviously under the influence of drugs and he was approaching the "celebrities” and no one really wanted to know him but Miguel took him to the sausage sizzle and fixed him up with a gourmet sausage, made sure he got one and that he was eating it. It was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. Read this news:  https://www.tweeddailynews.com.au/news/having-a-good-friendship-is-simply-the-best/3428541/

Doco charts ancient canoe journey linking Gold Coast to North Straddie

Image
A Gold Coast author has been given a rare insight into the history of the Gold Coast's Indigenous population and documented his journey to North Stradbroke Island along an ancient trade route in hand-carved wooden canoes. Benjamin Allmon spent the past four years producing a documentary, book and exhibition which recorded his journey from crafting the wooden canoes in the forests of the Gold Coast to embarking on a three-day, 70-kilometre voyage across the sea to North Stradbroke Island. "The journey from Surfers Paradise to Dunwich was a trade route, established inter-tribal relationships and forged cultural ties on many different levels. "I feel I have a deeper appreciation of the place I walk, swim and live in. "I hope the audience sees that there are ways to reach across the cultural divide and hopefully they engage with their local Indigenous story in their own way."
